Out of bath

I didn't have much time to paint today..As I was seeking inspiration in the "croquis cafe" archive, I found a pose with a nice movement in the legs and arms. My first lines and construction were not right . So I put batches of color here and there.(to relax!) I liked the bright red in the hair, which  immediatly transformed the pose into the story of a woman with a red towel coming out of bath and the painting began. I guess I could have worked it more, especially in the background, with more time/inspiration/skill... Below my reference photo and the painting

Countryside path in sunset

From the same place, I took a few pictures and did some quick sketches as the sun was setting. Summer  was very dry there and the countryside looked burned. Though the sky was bluer on my picture I liked the orange harmony.

I've done a few sketches of cows. They were really curious about me standing here. I like their shapes, nice planes, simple and expressive.

Here is the last (old) sketcbook I found. I like the ring bound because I can change pages forever and choose and try different paper each time as well. It's small  (5x3.5 in) but I can do landscape on both pages. Together with my tiny watercolor box it's very handy for quick color studies.

Holding hat

I did these two little quick sketches in front of a mirror with a window backlight holding a hat on my head. They are not self portrait I just liked the pose
